The restaurants on Dauphin Island, like the island itself, are very laid back and casual. Don't expect fancy linens but expect yummy food! Some of the restaurants are carryout only - perfect for bringing food back to enjoy on the condo balcony. I've broken the list down in terms of restaurants with indoor seating and restaurants that are carry-out or outdoor seating only.
Restaurants with Indoor Seating:
The Carriage 1522 Bienville Blvd. Website: carriagewine.com/dauphinisland Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/TheCarriageWineAndMarket Notes: New in 2023. Walking distance from The Inn. Wine, Cocktails, Mocktails, Wine slushes, charcuterie, paninis and more.
Dockside Seafood Restaurant 1102 DeSoto Ave. Phone: (251) 861-0114 Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/docksidedi/ Notes: New in 2021. Beneath the Pelican Pub at the former site of JT's Sunset Grill. Specials are on the Facebook page and the new deck looks amazing!
Pirate's Bar and Grill 100 Orleans Drive - at the Isle Dauphine Country Club Phone: (251) 861-2969 Website: https://www.piratesbarandgrill.com/ Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/PiratesBarandGrill/ Notes: Located in the historic Isle Dauphine Country Club. Beautiful building and views. Menu has seafood and a lot of variety. Pirate's Breakfast on the Beach Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/Pirates-Breakfast-At-The-Beach-111496894859760 Notes: New in 2022. This is a small breakfast restaurant beside Pirate's Bar and Grill. They have a buffet style breakfast but it is not all you can eat (they serve you). The pricing is dependent on how many items you want on your plate. They have both indoor seating and outdoor seating with great views of the gulf.
Pirate's Pizza and Wings 1610 Bienville Blvd. (251) 861-2269 Website: https://www.dauphinislandpizza.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/oursisbigger/ Notes: This pizza and wings shop is walking distance from the Inn in the building that used to house the Beach cafe. They have great carryout pizza and wings and it looks like they are adding some seating in the screened area.
Islander’s Restaurant and Bar 1504 Bienville Blvd. Phone: (251) 861-2225 Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/islandersrestaurantbar/ Notes: Another easy walk from the Inn. This restaurant is across from the public beach and the school. Very good breakfast and good views. I have heard great things about their bread pudding.
Lighthouse Bakery 919 Chaumont St. Phone: (251) 861-2253 Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/LighthouseBakery/ Notes: Famous for their cinnamon rolls but their peach cream cheese danishes are my favorite! Restaurants with Carry-Out or Outdoor Seating Only
Skinner's Seafood 1012 Bienville Blvd. Phone: (251) 861-4221 Website: https://www.skinnerseafood.com/ Notes: Fresh off the boat seafood. You can buy it raw and take it back to the condo to cook it (they sell seasonings as well) or have them cook it in their steamer. Miguel’s Beach ‘n Baja 202 B Lemoyne Dr. Phone: (251) 861-5683 Website: http://beachnbaja.com/ Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/beachnbaja/ Notes: Good Mexican food. Not too spicy. Sometimes there are items on their blackboard that are not on the online menu (like shrimp tacos) so you might want to ask when you call.
Island Chevron and Grill 1000 Bienville Blvd. Phone: (251) 861-2320 Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/islandchevron/ Notes: They have Hunts Brother pizza which is surprisingly good for gas station pizza. They also have a grill with a reputation for great burgers and other menu items which change daily (they update it on their Facebook page). Every morning they make hot biscuits which you can order as a sandwich with choices of meats and cheese or with gravy (sausage or tomato gravy). They open earlier than the restaurants so it's a great breakfast option for early risers.
Dinner’s Ready 918b Bienville Blvd. Phone: (251) 861-2320 Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/dinnersreadydi/ Notes: Dinner's Ready offers homecooked meals that you can take back to your condo and reheat. They also have yummy baked goods, key lime pie and homemade pimiento cheese. We have loved everything we've tried. You can follow their Facebook page to see their daily menus.
Reel Deal BBQ & Seafood 1612 Bienville Blvd. Phone: (251) 861-7427 Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/reeldealbbq/ Notes: This restaurant is very close to the Inn (across the street). Although their seating area is outside it is covered and a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal. We liked it so much that we ate it two nights in a row - both the barbecue and the seafood dinners where excellent. They are also famous for their egg rolls.
